I have not...

...completely quit smoking, yet. But I have reduced it by huge. I might smoke a fag once or twice a week, when it gets really boring at work. And then there is drinking and smoking. I have reduced drinking also, so I don't smoke as much as I use to when I drink.

I have picked up all sort of activities at home, so that I keep my mind from wandering in stale mind set and have a smoke.

Two weeks

...has now passed without a single cigarette. I haven't even get any urges. I have saved about 70€ money. Now that I think of that maybe the only reason why I haven't smoked in past two weeks. To save some money. I have calculated this previously too, but it hasn't been that much of problem, now I had few months that I made fewer hours of work per week, as First two months of the year are usually quite quiet at our kind of retail business. And I have been a bit struggling to get by with those pay checks, but I managed. Now there is this Corona virus thing also hanging on and smokers are in risk category with that virus, so one more reason not to smoke.

Break from smoking?

Well, it has been now five days without a single smoke. I don't crave for it, not at all. I have always known that for me it's just a distraction, social event, pause etc. So, how long I am going to go without smoking? Don't really know, since I am not giving myself any ultimatum about quitting completely but rather giving an option not to smoke, at all. If I someday want a smoke, then I smoke and I don't feel guilty about it.

Now that this Corona / Covid-19 virus has put everyone in a lockdown and washing their hands like there is no tomorrow, it is a good break from smoking since it elevates a person in to risk group to get sick with that virus.

It's refreshing to have a "reason" not to smoke. For me it's not that much a reason but an observation for some of my friend circle.

Happy Easter.

Don't really know what to do.

Since my last post I had some serious life altering happenings, divorce, unemployment, new job, moving to different city to live in. And now I am getting my shit together.

Well, that didn't last long.

I have been without smoking on-off for while now. Sometimes it week or two goes by without a single smoke. Then again I could be smoking a pack in two-three days. At least I have significantly reduced the amount I smoke.

Pull ups or chin ups.

Okay, I have started doing some basic every day health exercises now for a month. Month ago I didn't even get one pull up or chin up. Which ever you call it. There are a lot of debate which is which. So anyway, I didn't get even one. That didn't bother me since only way was up. Literally. There aren't any negative pull ups per se, If you can't do one then you can't, it's the bottom of the pit.

So, even I could do one I did try to make one. For two weeks I did try to make one. Finally after two weeks trying I barely made one. That was on Friday and on next Monday I didn't make it. Two inch sort of successful pull up. chin up. What gives? Well I guess a bit drinking and eating badly day after would contribute to some of the swelling in body weight. Which I measured on Tuesday. Yup, 2 kg more than previously measured. Which was about week before.

It took two weeks to finally get that one again, but I had been doing two halves as a set. So when I did managed to do that one again, I was already going for second one. Now I've been doing 1 and half.

There are two ways to get better results. Exercising more and losing weight. I think I'm going with losing weight.

Chin-ups.

It's been awhile and hasn't been updating blog at all. Many times I thought about it, but there wasn't a really good reason to post. At this blog.

Week ago we "started" a chin-up  "challenge" at work. We didn't really started it and it's not a challenge per se, but a personal fitness challenge to say. On the first day I almost had 1, next day it was barely 1, on the third day it was 1. The fourth day it was 1 and almost half.

Today was the third day of this week and I had 1 and half.  Half way to the whole 2.  There are two things to consider when trying to gain more chin-ups: how is your muscles are developing and how much you lose weight. I had 96 kg on scale day after first chin-up.
